This piece was inspired by one of my favorite architects, joze plecnik, a slovenian architect who died in 1957. he also was intrigued with the simple geometry of long thin forms. the title and horizontal configuration are lifted from his granite slavata monument in the rampart garden of prague castle in czechoslovakia. it is one of many destinations i have yet to visit. the mounting for this piece was originally from the top of a pedestal. it was only after this and the other two pieces in the show were built that i devised the wall-mounted posts. liar's 3 card poker rules was originally to be placed horizontally like this one but when it was to be exhibited in a previous show, the wall wasn't long enough. ; the graphics are reminiscent of missiles, aircraft and the type of markings seen on crash test vehicles. it also reminds me of several olives speared by a toothpick and
